Natalia James is a Mexican-American artist, producer and engineer based in Los Angeles, creating cinematic indie pop where tenderness and emotional contradiction coexist. Drawing from an eclectic palette that spans Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins, Latin Mafia and Fiona Apple, she pairs intimate bilingual songwriting with richly layered, unconventional production. Her music transforms everyday moments into vivid emotional worlds.
With a background in audio engineering, Natalia approaches each recording from both an emotional and technical perspective. That experimental instinct carries into her live performances, where she plays with drum machines and different instruments to reimagine the songs in real time.
Beneath the softness of her sound lies a restless tension: the desire to be loved alongside the fear of trusting it, nostalgia tangled with regret, and certainty dissolving into doubt.
